The Camrose Kinettes have the ovens fired up and are preparing for the 6th annual Cookie Walk. The sweet event will be held Nov. 21 at the Duggan Mall Farmer's Market starting promptly at 9 a.m. The cookie containers are selling for $15. This year, along with hundreds of Christmas cookies, the group is also showcasing it's second-ever cook book. "The cook book boasts everyday recipes from main course meals to desserts and everything else in-between," said cook book organizers Kathy Schwab and Cath  

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital patients got a head start on the holiday season, and future architect degrees, by helping construct the hospital's signature gingerbread house with some expert chefs. St. Jude staff spent 20 hours building the gingerbread house's main structure, which stands seven feet tall. The next crucial step was the frosting and decorative cookies, supplied by the patients.  

Serious eaters, I'm about to stand before you (and on Thinner) a beaten man. Why? It's been a bad serious diet week.  

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder, and salt and beat until combined. Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla until combined.

Even though turkey has not arrived yet, before you know it holiday music will be streaming from the radio and the full on holiday rush will be upon us. Holiday music is already playing on station in our area and all the stores are decorated for the holidays. Making sugar cookies with kids is a holiday tradition for many people.  

Logo, a college and Major League Baseball product manufacturer/ wholesale distributor, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Logo, 117 Southeast Parkway, to sell its products directly to the public.  

The Portage Lions want to thank all the community members who supported our annual scholarship cookie dough fundraisier. We again sold enough tubs of dough to boost our scholarship fund to enable our group to present some deserving Portage High School seniors in the spring with some scholarship money to help offset those college fees. I want to thank my fellow Lions members for all of their hard work in selling the dough and then with the delivery.
